One of the objectives of the Joint
Programme is to provide government officials, policy?makers
and researchers from developing countries with an opportunity
to expand their knowledge and experience to contribute
to the capacity building in environment and sustainable
development fields in developing countries. Since 2003,
the Joint Programme has been organizing IERC Workshop
on Environment and Sustainable Development annually as
an interactive educational training programme. The workshop
includes lectures by internationally renowned specialists
and oral presentations by invited participants from developing
countries. |

Members of government or researchers
from government funded institutes and universities from
developing countries are eligible to apply. The interesting
topic should be closely related with workshop theme. |

The workshop includes lectures by
internationally renowned specialists and oral presentations
by invited participants from developing countries.
Participants are advised to take an active role in presenting
their country¡¯s environmental concerns closely related
with workshop theme and to relate their ideas and experiences
during the workshop.
All communication shall be conducted in English language.

Admission to the workshop is free
and financial support for participation in the workshop
will be provided by the IERC: specifically including round?trip
airfares (economy class), meals and accommodation in Gwangju
|

An application
form must be completed and submitted to
IERC by email attachment with the following documents
as mentioned on the application form: |
1. Curriculum Vitae (word file)
2. Abstract for 15 minute presentation (two pages) |
